Israeli Dancing Tonight, Senior Line Dancing, Nia 101, Contra, Waltz, SFC Registration

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Israeli and Folk Dancers,

We are Israeli Dancing tonight Monday October 10 at 7:15 pm at B'nai Israel. We will not be dance on October 17 and 24. Our schedule will return to normal with weekly dancing on October 31.

Line Dancing at the Senior Center is this Thursday at noon. This starts a new 3 week series. Register via SFC Community Ed at www.sfcollege.edu/cied/communityed or call 352-395-5193.

Sarit Sela is teaching Nia 101 Basics Playshop this Sunday October 16 from 10 am to noon. This two-hour playshop is for anyone curious about Nia and how to get the most out of a Nia class. Learn the basic 52 Moves that make up Nia. You will get a taste of the 9 Movement Forms - from Dance to Martial Arts to Yoga - that energize Nia. Once you are comfortable with the basics, Nia class becomes a fantastic, joyful workout that busts a sweat and conditions your whole body without impact. Nia releases stress, heightens awareness and heals the body. $15 before October 9, 2016; $20 after October 10, 2016 Please RSVP. This Saturday night is the monthly evening Contra Dance at the Boltin Center at 7 pm. Sunday is the Vintage Waltz Brunch at 10:30 am and afternoon Swing and Sway at 3 pm, each $10 both at Rena's Ballroom.

Don't Think

In Andrea's Tango class, we were doing exercises for disassociation. Andrea said you have to connect your shoulder to the opposite hip. When you walk, rather than twist, you use your core to spiral.

Tatiana was confused, as most of us were. She asked, "So when I go forward, I turn my left shoulder, no, um, is it my right, wait, no. Do I?"

I said, "Don't think."
