Contra Weekend, Intro to Social Dancing, No Israeli Dancing Monday, Try English Country

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Israeli and Folk Dancers,

No Israeli Dancing tomorrow Monday October 24. Dancing starts again on October 31. Try English Country Dancing at 7 pm at the United Church of Gainesville, $5. First come dance with the Torah at B'nai Israel from 6 to 7 to celebrate the holiday of Simchat Torah, which commemorates the yearly completion of reading the Five Books of Moses, free.

We are Line Dancing at the Senior Center this Thursday at noon. Register for the next series via SFC Community Ed at www.sfcollege.edu/cied/communityed or call 352-395-5193.

Saturday and Sunday October 29 and 30 join the Contra Dance Mini Weekend at the Boltin Center with dancing from 5:45 to 10 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday. Sunday is advanced dancing. $10 each day.

Introduction to Social Dancing 5 week series on Thursdays from 7 to 8 pm starts November 3 at Congregation B’nai Israel, 3830 NW 16 Blvd. You will learn a few social dances that you can use on social occasions like weddings and other events. This also serves as an introduction if you would like to start to learn how to dance with a partner. Couples friendly, you do not have to rotate partners. Singles friendly, you do not need a partner.
