Busy Weekend of Dancing, Tango, Waltz, Swing, Contra

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Tonight is the last week for our Beginning Argentine Tango dancers. Whether you are in this class or not, let me know if you would like to join Beginning Argentine Tango next week or for another 6-week series starting in April. Right now either Friday or Sunday evenings look good.

Tonight is the last week our Beginning Swing series. April 10, we will start up a Beginning West Coast Swing series offered via SFC.

Tonight the UF Tango Club has invited the Gainesville Community to join them for their beginners graduation milonga, with a lesson at 7:30 and dancing at 8 pm, at Corry Village, on the UF campus near the Law School. Free

Friday night head on down to the Tigert House, 224 NE 10 Avenue, for Vintage Waltz and English Country Dancing from 6:45 to 9:45 pm. Bring a snack to share. Free, but you can donate $5 to the band.

Saturday night is Josh's monthly West Coast Swing dance at The Movement, 1212 N Main Street. There is a lesson with professional dancer Stephen White and his partner at 7:30, and dancing at 8:30. Wear Black and White. $15

Sunday is the monthly afternoon Contra dance at the Boltin Center at 4 pm. $8

Argentine Tango Milonga El Abrazo is the following weekend on Saturday, March 8. Steve and Sarah are hosting an Argentine Tango workshop and milonga with Oscar Casas from Buenos Aries on Sunday March 30.

Mainstream Western Style Square Dancing is coming via SFC Community Education in April. If you ever want to go to a Western Style Square Dance, you have to know the 60 calls you will learn in this series. Anyone that can walk and follow directions can do this.

You can still see the UF Dance Department's yearly performance through February 28.
