Gainesville Ocala Swing and Social Dance Newsletter 2014-02-06

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

The dance calendar is in full swing, with dancing nearly every night this month, if you are versatile.

Thursday, join me for Line Dancing at noon at the Senior Center. In the evening, we have class 3 of 6 for Beginning Argentine Tango at 6 pm, followed by Swing at 7:10 pm. Tango dancers can come 5 minutes early and stay 10 minutes late for additional practice. We will try Tango Vals this week.

Also on Thursdays Ballroom dancers can join Bob Rogers for Silver American Bolero (and Silver American Foxtrot on Tuesdays) at the Boltin Center, or Ray and Eileen on Thursdays for Vienese Waltz (and rotating dances on Tuesdays) at By Ear Musician.

Friday UF Swing Club is in session. The International Folk Dancers also meet Friday.

Saturday night, come out for the monthly Argentine Tango Milonga El Abrazo from 8 pm to midnight at the Movement, 1212 N Main. $10, free to watch. Also Saturday night Ray and Eileen are holding a Ballroom Valentine's Dance at By Ear Musician.

For those in Ocala, or within driving distance, there is a Country Night Dance Social. See the calendar for details.

This weekend is the second Sunday of the month and that means Nick and the Swingtastics play at Loosey's at 7 pm, $7

Next Friday, February 14, Richard is holding a Valentine's Day Swing Dance at the Boltin Center with Nick and the Swingtastics playing live music. Richard has not had a dance in a while and the Boltin Center is the best place to dance, so plan to attend this. Whatever your skill level, beginners too, you can still come out and have fun.
