Cabaceo, Slips of Paper, Argentine Tango Class, Ocala Dance, Ballroom, Swingtastics

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

In Argentina, you make eye contact with your potential partner before asking her to dance. This is called cabaceo. I have not been to Argentina, so I have not seen this practiced authentically in person. A treat for you, from 1939, Another Thin Man, start watching at 5:00 and look for cabaceo at 5:32. I guess this is how cabaceo is done.

Three great dances this Saturday night.

Those taking Beginning Argentine Tango, come to Sarah's class this Saturday night at the Movement, 1212 N Main, for a class from 8 to 8:45 pm, followed by Argentine Tango Milonga El Abrazo. Just $10 for the evening.

Ballroom Dancers have Ray and Eileen's twice-monthly Saturday night dance. For West Coast Swingers and Country Dancers, Ocala's Time 2 Dance has a social Saturday night, with a lesson with Donna Bonham Steinfeld and Shawn Swaithes.

Sunday, the Swingtastics play at Loosey's at 7 pm, only $7.

During the week, on Wednesday at 10 pm the Mischievous Madams hold a Swing Night. Sounds like fun. www.facebook.com/events/1468531610045938

There is a Hasidic teaching of Rabbi Simcha Bunem of Pershyscha, who carried a piece of paper in each pocket. On one was written "for my sake the world was created," and on the other was "I am but dust and ashes."
