New Music Rockin Robin, Contra and Waltz Brunch, Salsa Night, Band in Melrose, Blues Get Together, Ocala Dance Social

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Last weekend, I played music for a dance at the Atrium. Management asked me to play some music from the 1950s and 1960s. The residents complained. They said they, "did not understand the new music." Pretty funny, new music.

This week, as I was going through music making up a new playlist, I have to say, I cannot find music better than that swing music from the 1930s and 1940s.

Friday night there is a dance social in Ocala and a Salsa lesson and dancing at By Ear Musician.

Saturday night is a Contra Dance at the Boltin Center. Afterwards, head down the street to Loosey's and join the UF Swing Club for a Juke Joint Blues Get Together. Also Saturday, David and Thuy hold an Argentine Milonga and out in Melrose, the Jacoby Brothers play a Dance at the Arts Cultural Center.

Sunday is the monthly Vintage Waltz Brunch. Sunday afternoon Mr. October entertains at the Swing and Sway Afternoon Dance at the Senior Center, for all ages.

Next Thursday is the end of the Salsa and Hustle series. We are having a lot of fun with both and the variety is nice. We may extend these after Thanksgiving into December. Let me know if you would like to attend.

My tango teacher, Andrea Pham, is holding an Argentine Tango Workshop Weekend, November 21 to 23, attend all or part. There will be a variety of different workshops. pham.andrea@gmail.com
