Only One Person, Too Much Dancing, Tango, Swing, Contra

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

This is a full weekend of dancing and workshops. One body is not enough. You need to split yourself in two. If you are into Tango, you can go to milongas Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Two big Swing dances this weekend too and a Contra dance as well. You can also take a bunch of classes.

UF Argentine Tango Club hosts their annual Tango for the Cure to benefit the American Cancer Society. Workshops taught by special guests Daniela Roig and Herman Prieto from Buenos Aires via Chicago. Friday night at 7 pm is a workshop at Corry Village, $30, followed by a dance at 8:30, $15. Saturday night is the big dance, with a workshop at 7:30 pm in the Reitz Union main ballroom, $30, followed by a dance at 8:30 pm, $15. Prices are for adults. Workshops discounted for students. UF students attend the milongas for free. Non UF students can come to the milongas for $10. www.facebook.com/events/601447059965712

Friday night, you can also join the UF Swing Club for their Winter Formal Dance at the Unified Training Center. There will be four lessons at 8 pm. $5

Saturday night Daniele Blouin is the guest teacher at Josh's 1st Saturday of the month West Coast Swing dance, with a lesson at 7:30 pm at the Movement, $15.

Sunday is the monthly afternoon Contra dance at the Boltin Center at 4 pm. Social waltz starts at 2:30. $8

Immediately after Contra on Sunday at 7 pm is Andrea's monthly Argentine Tango Milonga Papirusa. $10
