Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Beginning West Coast Swing in a semi-private group with Andy this Monday from 6 to 7 pm, near Fresh Market. Contact me if you would like to attend. $15

Learn Lindy Swing Dancing

Lindy is possibly the most upbeat, least serious of all partner dances. As one of my teachers said, "There is no wrong in swing, if you can lead it and she can follow it." If you want to just have fun dancing to music that makes you happy, Lindy is the dance for you.

Sign up now via Santa Fe College Community Education for a six week series in Lindy, starts April 9 from 7:10 to 8:10 pm at Gainesville High School. You will learn the original swing dance and quite useful to know today. You need to have at least some experience dancing, any kind of dance experience will do, it does not have to be swing.

Novice dancers can sign up for Beginning Swing Dancing which takes place on the same nights from 6 to 7 pm.

You can also sign up for Ray and Eileen's Ballroom sessions as well as two other series I will be teaching in Hawthorne:

  1. Line Dancing on Tuesdays at 6 pm in Hawthorne for 4 weeks. Starts April 7, 2015
  2. Slow Partner Dancing for beginners on Tuesdays at 7 pm in Hawthorne for 4 weeks. Starts Arpil 7, 2015

Dances this Weekend

UF Swing Club has dances Friday and Saturday night at the Unified Training Center, with a live band on Saturday night.

Ray and Eileen hold a Ballroom Dance on Saturday night at By Ear Musician.

There are two Argentine Tango Milongas on Saturday night. The UF Swing Club is holding a milonga at Corry Village. You can just drop in. David and Thuy host a milonga at a private home. Contact David for details david.chayes@gmail.com

This is the fifth Sunday of the month, so there is an Advanced Contra Dance at the Boltin Center from 4 to 7 pm. Social Waltzing starts at 2:45.
