Your Input, Contra Dance in Melrose, Argentine Tango, Ballroom Dance, Beginning Swing Dancing

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Your Input

Would like your input if you are interested in dancing at the Boltin Center. This is the best place to dance in Gainesville and is a great opportunity for us. Let me know what type of dancing you would participate in, such as: Argentine tango, ballroom, hustle, lindy swing, line, salsa, west coast swing, zydeco or other dances you might like. Would you like a variety of dances or just one?

How about structure of the evening. Would you be interested in classes, open dancing, guided practice, beginners, intermediate, advanced? One class per evening, two classes, three classes? A class and then dance time?

How much difference does pricing make to you and how likely you are to attend? For example, say $15 for drop-in, $40 for 4 classes in a month, or a card for 10 classes for $75? Or something like $8 for one class in an evening and $12 for two or three classes in an evening? Or something like $10 for class and dancing and $6 for dancing only?

Here are some times.

  1. Thursday evenings, availability is somewhere between 7 and 11
  2. Second and Fourth Friday evenings
  3. Second and Fourth Sunday late afternoon or evenings

Your input is appreciated.

Beginning Swing Dancing

Beginning swing dancing started this Thursday. Time is from 6 to 7 pm at Gainesville High School. You can still join us for the next 5 weeks. Sign via Santa Fe College Community Education, 352-395-5193.

Dancing this Weekend

There is plenty of fun dancing to be had this weekend. On Friday night you can dance with the UF Swing Club at the UTC, with a free lesson from 8 to 9 pm. Or, you can go out to Melrose for a Contra Dance.

Saturday night join Ray and Eileen for a Ballroom Dance. Or, come out to Argentine Tango Milonga El Abrazo at the Movement, free to watch.

Next Friday, professional Agnieszka Mazlanka will be at Josh's 3rd Friday West Coast Swing dance.

Happy Dancing,
Andy
