Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Quick Announcement: each month we explore a different aspect of Swing Dancing, applies to all types of swing. This give you a chance to go in-depth into different aspects of the dance, finding insights into communication, balance, musicality and so on. We started with 6-count basics. Last month was the 8-count rhythm turn. In July, we will be covering the ladies one-and-a-half turn, techniques for turning, how to lead and follow, when to use in the music, variations, improvisations and the like.

These are semi-private sessions with a small group, so you get personal feedback from the instructor to help you with the things you need. Early Monday evenings from 6 to 7:15 pm, 1/2 mile east of Fresh Market. The cost is $15 per night or $50 for 4 weeks in July. Contact me if you would like to join us.

While I am at it, at the opposite end of the spectrum, instead of learning one thing about one dance, attend Summer Boot Camp and learn a different dance each week, Waltz, East Coast Swing, Cha Cha and Country Two Step. Starting a new month this Wednesday at the Movement from 7 to 10 pm. $12 per night, $40 for 4 weeks in July

Lastly, this coming Saturday is the monthly West Coast Swing with Danielle Blouin dance social at the Movement.
