Salsa Extravaganza, New Dance Sessions Starting Via Santa Fe College Community Education

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

There are a bunch of new dance classes starting up via Santa Fe College Community Education. Check out the full list and register at www.sfcollege.edu/cied/communityed. I will be teaching Argentine Tango and West Coast Swing at Gainesville High School, and Line Dancing at the Senior Center. Everyone knows the saying, "It takes two to Tango". Of all the dances, the one that helps you learn the best partner dancing skills is Argentine Tango. This is because each step is improvisational. You learn how to communicate through balance using your body without any pushing and pulling. You can apply these skills to all your dancing, making you a more comfortable partner.

This weekend is the Gator Salsa Club Spring Extravaganza with free dances and classes.

Saturday is a day of Dances of Universal Peace with chanting and potluck at www.PeacockParadise.org.

Saturday evening welcome in the new Bo Diddley Plaza with a free Nia Holistic Movement Class with Sarit Sela.

Saturday night go to NW 23 Ave between 6 Street and 13 Street on the north side and you can check out two dances one building apart, a Ballroom Dance Party with Ray and Eileen and an Argentine Tango Milonga with Andrea.

We will start a new Monday night West Coast Swing series on April 11, which will be exploring Whip Turns and 8-count movements. Let me know if you would like to join us. If you want to start Beginning West Coast Swing, take the SFC Community Education series mentioned at the top of this email.

Let me know if you would like to do Salsa on Monday evenings from 5 to 6 pm, before West Coast Swing. Some people expressed interest and if there are enough others, we will start up a series on April 11.
