Graciousness, Three For One, New Classes Starting Next Week, Swing with Wayne, Vintage Waltz

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Dancing with Andy

If this is a good time for you to start, you can get a three for one deal. I wanted to do something special for my Monday night dancers, so I invited them to come on Thursday nights for free. Then I felt bad, so I invited my Thursday night dancers to come on Mondays. Now I am inviting you to come on Mondays and Thursdays for the price of the Monday series. That is $75 for 11 nights. This is a one time thing, just for March.

Mondays, February 29 thru April 4, 6-weeks
5:30 Beginning West Coast Swing
6:15 West Coast Swing Whip Turns
7:15 Israeli Dancing

Thursdays, March 3 thru March 31, 5-weeks
6:00 Beginnerish Salsa
7:00 Beginnerish Lindy-stylish Swing
8:00 Hustle anyone?

If you just want to come on Thursdays, the cost is $60

Things to note. Safety first, these are gentle classes, no pushing and pulling. You learn to lead and follow using your body, not your hands. Everyone does their own dancing. Everyone moves their own body parts.

The focus is on fun, non judgmental, social dancing. Courtesy and comfort follow safety. No one tells anyone else what to do. Everyone learns to live with, and enjoy, what they get from their partner. Technical instruction concentrates on the basics. You learn fundamental skills that you can apply to all your dancing.

Saturday night Andrea hosts Argentine Tango Milonga Papirusa at Hip Moves, next to Rena's Ballroom. Stop by to check out the scene for free. If you like what you see, go to one or more of these sessions. Andrea starts a new beginning Argentine Tango series on Monday nights at 7 pm, pham.andrea@gmail.com. David and Thuy host Argentine Tango classes on Thursday nights, david.chayes@gmail.com. UF Argentine Tango has classes open to the public on Wednesday nights. In April, I will be running a 6-week beginning Argentine Tango series via SFC Community Ed.

This is the GODS Weekend. It is sold out, but you can attend the Vintage Waltz Brunch Saturday morning at 9:30 at the Thomas Center with a live band and delicious food, $25.

Saturday night join Ray and Eileen for their Ballroom Dance at Rena's Ballroom.

Graciousness

At Josh's last dance, a new guy came in and was standing around watching the dancing. Judy invited him onto the floor. He did not know West Coast Swing. He did his own freestyle dancing.

Judy danced with him. She did not try to show him what to do. She was engaging. She had fun with him and he had fun with her. That is how it is done.
