Dancing is dancing.
You improve more learning different dances, because this helps
you learn fundamental skills that apply to every dance,

as balance, posture, leading and following, musicality, structure.
When you only learn one dance, there is a tendency to memorize.
This can result in bad habits that can hold you back.
