Congratulations to those that made Andrea's Beginners Milonga on Saturday night and learned the Tango hug for dancing in close embrace. You are welcome to continue to try close embrace on Thursday, steel toed shoes recommended, or you can dance open embrace. On Monday we will be doing Beginning Rumba, just enough so that you can get by doing this dance when needed. You can also incorporate this in your West Coast Swing. Let me know if you would like to join these classes.

This month on Thursdays Ray and Eileen are doing Ballroom Viennese Waltz at Rena's Ballroom. Cool

Friday morning June 3 from 9 to 10 am Sarit Sela hosts the special event Nia Holistic Movement Master Class with Blackbelt Jason Alan Griffin at Stillpoint Therapy Studio, 2730 NW 39 Avenue, Gainesville. $15

This is a busy weekend of dancing which you can attend as a beginner.

Friday night June 3 Gainesville's Big Band Plays a Swing Dance at Market Street Pub from 9 to midnight, $5. This is Lindy style classic swing, lots of fun. This is a small floor, cozy, casual atmosphere.

Saturday 7:30 to 11:30 is Josh’s Retro Night West Coast Swing Dance at the Movement, $10. Short lesson at the beginning. Should be lots of folks from our Monday and Thursday class at this. Always nice to see familiar, friendly faces at dances.

Sunday 4 to 7 pm is the monthly afternoon Contra Dance at the Boltin Center, $10. Lesson at 3:30. Country Waltzing is at 2:45. If you came to our Monday Country Two Step class, you will find Country Waltzing to be similar to Two Step except with a waltz rhythm.
