Wayne's Party, Contra Dance Sunday, Video Challenge, Professional West Coast Swing Next Saturday

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

UF Spring Semester has come to an end. We enter that quiet time of year for UF until the bustling action starts up again in the fall. UF Swing Club and UF Tango Club are on break There is plenty to do in Gainesville, if you know the locals. The first of those is this Saturday night with Wayne Tinny's West Coast Swing Gathering at his house a little west of Fresh Market at 7:30 pm. Contact Wayne for details 352-281-6093.

This Sunday is the monthly afternoon Contra Dance at the Boltin Center from 4 to 7 pm. Lesson at 3:30 and Waltzing at 2:45.

On Mondays we continue to do Salsa from 5:30 to 6 pm and West Coast Swing from 6 to 7:15 pm and Israeli Dancing from 7:15 to 8:30 pm at B'nai Israel. For West Coast Swing this is week 4 of 6 in our Whip Turn exploration. The cost is $15 for the night. If you only want to do Salsa or Israeli Dancing the cost is just $5. Let me know if you would like to join us.

Next Saturday May 7 come out for West Coast Swing with Professional Dancers Stephen and Sonya White at the Movement at 7:30 pm.

Salsa Video Challenge

Have a challenge for you. Email me your solution. In this simple video of a Salsa Spot Turn there is something sophisticated going. Your challenge is to spot when and how the turn is first signaled. Will give you a hint. You cannot see the lead.
