Busy Weekend, Social Dancing Thursdays, New Series Starting

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Santa Fe College Community Education Classes start soon. Dance classes include Argentine Tango, Ballroom, Irish Step, Social Dancing Introduction, Tap and Line Dancing (this one under Seniors). To register call 352-395-5193 or visit www.sfcollege.edu/cied/communityed.

Dancing with Andy

We are not dancing this Monday October 24 due to the Jewish holiday. After that we are starting new 6 week series on Mondays and Thursdays.

Argentine Tango - Thursdays 6 to 7 pm
Social Dancing - Thursdays 7 to 8 pm followed by dance time
Hustle and Swing - Mondays 5:30 to 7:15 pm

In Social Dancing you will learn a few dances you can do on social occasions. The first night on October 27 you will learn Rumba. Other dances may include Cha Cha, Bachata, Foxtrot, Merengue, Society Tempo, Two-Step, Waltz.

Cost per night per person, which includes both dances, is:
- $120 for 12 nights (4 nights free), both Mondays and Thursdays
- $75 for six nights (1 night free), either Mondays or Thursdays, or
- $15 drop in, or

Everyone Invited Free Social Dancing on Thursdays at 8 pm

After our Thursday Social Dance class, starting at 8 pm, we will have some social dancing time. You are welcome to drop in and dance for free. How long we stay will depend on who is there. The music will include Swing and a variety of other dances.

Busy Weekend

Tonight Friday at 8 pm, go to Bo Diddley Plaza downtown Gainesville for a free performance of Jacare Brazil with Juliana Azoubel.

You have five dance opportunities to choose from on Saturday night. See the calendar for details.

- Brazilian Dance Workshop with Juliana Azoubel - Juliana is a world class professional visiting from Brazil.

- Argentine Tango Milonga Papirusa 10 Year Anniversary - happens only once every ten years.

- Ballroom Dance Party with Ray and Eileen - at Rena's Ballroom.

- Salsa Mundial First Anniversary Social - first of many.

- Open Arms Harvest Hoedown Benefit Dinner and Dancing - for a good cause.

Sunday join the new Basic Jive, Lindy and Swing with LaQianya at Flow Space from 7 to 9 pm.

Fall Into Art and Help a Child Heal Silent Art Auction

Come out on Saturday November 5 from 3 to 6 pm for this benefit program hosted by one of our local dancers Dr. Trisha Biggers Peterson, askdrtrish@gmail.com. At DNA Art Gallery, 218 NW 2 Avenue.

Proceeds go to the Climb for Cancer Foundation. Donations include artwork by Annie Pais, Eleanor Blair, Jerry Uelsmann, Cyd Robbins, Mary McClead, John Moran, and more. Wine tasting, chair massage, refreshments, raffle prizes, live music.
