Dueling DJs, West Coast Swing Dance, Contra

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Friday night Dueling DJ Dance at Rena's Ballroom at 7:30 pm. $10

Saturday night is Josh's West Coast Swing Bluesy Dance at the Movement at 7:30 pm. No lesson. $15

Sunday is the monthly afternoon Contra Dance at 4 pm at the Boltin Center, with Waltzing at 2:45. $10

Dancing with Andy

No dancing this week, because I will be out of town. I have to work. The big problem with work is it cuts into my free time. Well, it is not really work. I get to play with computers all day long and someone pays me. Cool.

Schedule

Mondays March 13 three weeks
5:30 pm Hustle
6:30 pm Foxtrot and Swing
7:30 pm Israeli Dancing

Thursdays March 16 three weeks
6 pm Argentine Tango
7 pm Rumba and Salsa
8 pm Waltz Slow

Cost per person
- $60 for all 6 nights, or
- $35 for 3 Mondays or 3 Thursdays, or
- $15 per night drop-in

Mondays April 3 six weeks
5:30 pm Hustle
6:30 pm Swing
7:30 pm Israeli Dancing

Thursdays April 6 six weeks
6 pm Argentine Tango
7 pm Salsa
8 pm Swing

Cost per person
- $110 for all 12 nights (what a deal!), or
- $75 for 6 Mondays or 6 Thursdays, or
- $15 per night drop-in

Have More Fun

Mark said, "I cannot have more fun than I am already having."

I feel the same way.

I was starting to dance with a lady. She said, "I am a beginner."

I told her, "I do not care what you do. I cannot have any more fun than I am already having."

Once you can get up and dance, you are having as much fun as you can have. You are dancing.

You do not have more fun when you get better. While there are lots of reasons to get better, having more fun is not one of them. You may even have less fun when you get better, if you become judgmental. If your expectations rise with your skill level, there will be fewer people that can meet your demands.

There is a way though to have more fun. Dance More, Sit Less

The more dances you know, the more dancing you can do. You only need to know enough to get your tuchy off the chair and onto the floor, to have more fun.
