You can accomplish a lot with positive feedback. Putting aside the cruelty of keeping an orca in a pool, how do they get that whale to jump over a rope? Well, they put a rope on the bottom of the pool. When the whale swims over the rope, they give the whale a fish to eat. Then they lift the rope. They repeat the process until eventually, the rope gets near the surface. The whale has to break the surface to get the fish.

When I started teaching dancing, the best advice I got was from my mother, who said, "They came to dance. Don't talk." Reminded me of my sixth grade choir director who pointed at me and said, "You, don't sing."

Come out tonight for Argentine Tango Practica Thursday April 27 from 8 to 10 pm, at Congregation B'nai Israel, 3830 NW 16 Blvd. Informal gathering. No partner needed. All levels. Newcomers welcome. People will be happy to assist you. $5 to help pay for the room. Student age folks are invited for free.

My regular classes preceed and overlap the practica.

Cost per person
- $60 for 5 remaining nights (save $15), or
- $40 for 3 Thursdays (save $5), or
- $25 for 2 Mondays (save $5), or
- $20 for 2 Mondays (save $10) if you are taking the Thursday series, or
- $15 per night drop-in, or
- $5 per night student age, or
- $5 for Tango Practica only, free for student age, or
- $5 for Israeli Dancing only, free for student age

Dancing this Weekend

Friday Gosia and Aly at Rena's Ballroom. This is a good place to dance. Doors open at 7:30. $12

Saturday is the English Country Dance Mayfair Ball. The afternoon tea dance is from 2:30 to 5:30 with Full Circle Band with Veronica and Ted Lane. The evening ball is from 7:30 to 10:30 with Hoggetowne Fancy. Annette, Randy and John Rogers calling. Great line up. Dress up. At the United Church of Gainesville, 1624 NW 5 Avenue. Each dance is $12.

Sunday afternoon is the Advanced Contra Dance at the Boltin Center at 4 pm, with Waltzing at 2:45. $10.
