Salsa at First Magnitude, Blues Dancing, Sweet Dreams, Contra, Vintage Waltz

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

Lots of dancing this weekend. There is Contra dancing two days. Friday night is the monthly Contra Dance in Melrose. Saturday is the monthly evening Contra Dance at the Boltin Center.

An unusual event on Saturday night is a Salsa and Latin Dance Party at First Magnitude Brewing Company with the band La Calle from 8 pm to midnight, $10.

Both Saturday and Sunday is Blues and Swing dancing. You can West Coast to Blues. Saturday night there is Blues Dancing at 6th Street North, 4401 NW 6 Street, no cover, but you should buy something from the bar. Sunday afternoon Gainesville Big Band Plays Swing at Sweet Dreams Ice Cream, 3437 W University Avenue, at 5 pm, free.

Sunday is the monthly Vintage Waltz Brunch at Rena's Ballroom from 10:30 to 1 pm, $10.

Dancing with Andy

I will be away five of the next six weeks. We will dance one night only on Thursday August 3. We will start up again at the end of August on Monday August 4. In September and October, our next series will be on Mondays and Tuesdays instead of Thursdays, due to the Jewish holidays. Here is the tentative schedule.
