One Week to Summer Dance, New Series, UF Swing Dance Tonight, Contra, Foxtrot and Quickstep

Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

One week to July 7 Summer Swing and More Dance Social at Rena's with Andy. Robert and Daphne are putting up decorations and bringing a treat. Have fun, socialize and enjoy great music suitable for dancing all kinds of swing, with a variety of other dances mixed in. You can dance anyway you want to whatever you want. Dancing starts at 8:30. At Rena's Ballroom, 720 NW 23 Blvd, only $10

Come early at 7:30 for the Hustle lesson. Coming for the lesson gives you a chance to meet other folks before the dance. No Hustle experience needed, other dance experience useful for the lesson. Even if you know, or maybe especially if you know ballroom Hustle, you should come for this Hustle lesson. The lesson is in Latin Hustle, which is a companion dance to West Coast Swing. The lesson will emphasize lead and following skills from my book How to Dance with a Partner. Join our New Series in Hustle, Salsa and Argentine Tango with Andy starting this Thursday July 5.

Tonight Friday night is the UF Swing Club Independence Swing Dance and Blues Party in the Reitz Union Ballroom with a lesson at 7:30. $5

This Sunday July 1 is the monthly afternoon Contra Dance at the Boltin Center at 4 pm, with a lesson at 3:30 and Waltzing at 2:45.

Thursdays in July learn Foxtrot and Quickstep with Ray and Eileen at Rena's Ballroom.

Dancing with Andy

Come out this Thursday July 5 for our new 4 week series in July in Hustle, Salsa and Argentine Tango. This series is for all levels, beginners and those with experience.

This is Latin Hustle, danced in a slot like West Coast Swing. This type of Hustle helps you dance light, lengthen your movements, sharpen your turns and is a lot of fun, because you get to move.

We will be using some Casino Salsa to help practice Salsa, which is a lot of fun, kind of like Square Dancing with Disco turns to Latin music.
