Friday Night Dancing, Tango with Susanna Miller, Ballroom Dance
Hello and Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,
Tonight Friday May 11 we have a casual Swing and More Dance Practice and Social for Everyone with Andy from 7:30 to around 10:30 at Rena's Place, 720 NW 23 Avenue. $10
How is dance practice different from a dance party? As you know, there is no teaching during a dance social. At a dance practice, if you want to get together and work on things, you are welcome to do so. You can ask others for help. If you just want to dance, you can do that too.
There will be a variety of music suitable for a number of different dances. Most of the music will be on the slower side, to allow for more improvisation. There will be some music that you might be able to dance West Coast Swing, slow Lindy, Hustle, Salsa, Rumba, Foxtrot or Tango all to the same song. You can dance to the music any way you and your partner want.
If people want, I may do a lesson in Hustle or something else at 7:30. I call these types of lessons structured dancing. There is a short bit of instruction and then you get to dance to a song. For those that want, we rotate, so everyone gets to dance with everyone else. During the lesson, others are welcome to just dance, if they prefer.

Saturday night come out to Argentine Tango Milonga El Abrazo with Susanna Miller at Rosa B Williams Dance Center, 524 NW 1 Street. Special workshop with guest instructor at 6:30 pm, dancing until 11 pm. $25 for workshop, $10 for milonga, $5 student
Saturday night come out to Ray and Eileen's Ballroom Dance at Rena's Place at 7:30 pm. $10, $7 student
